Fare(ly) Visible is an apparatus aimed to cultivate a smart-city citizen’s relationship to nutrition by turning the body into the land in which nutrients grow. Made for use in the public domain, the apparatus displays the work and care put into the stewarding of seed that is typically masked by private spaces, distant locations, and the exploitation of land and labor. By using carbon dioxide expelled directly from the breath of the wearer to increase ambient CO2 within the microclimate, the apparatus fosters a direct relationship between nurturer and nutrition.
